What is silence?

People often assume, "Silence? That's just the absence of noise, right?"

No, it's not. It's a totally different quality..

Most of us think silence is just... well, nothing. Like when you're in a quiet room and there are no sounds. But that's not silence. That's just noiselessness.

Real silence? It's something completely different.

Silence something alive. It's not empty - it's overflowing. It's got its own music, its own fragrance, its own light. But you can only see this light with your inner eyes.

Let me break this down. We're so used to our senses looking outward, right?

Our eyes scanning the room, our ears listening to the world, our hands touching things around us. But what if I told you we have another sense? A sixth sense that's been sleeping this whole time?

In Eastern traditions, they call this the "third eye." It's like an internal GPS that looks inward instead of outward. And when you start exploring this inner world, you discover something mind-blowing - silence isn't just quiet. It's a whole experience.

Osho says,

“Your very center of being is the center of a cyclone. Whatever happens around it does not affect it; it is eternal silence. Days come and go, years come and go, ages come and pass, lives come and go, but the eternal silence of your being remains exactly the same – the same soundless music, the same fragrance of godliness, the same transcendence from all that is mortal, from all that is momentary.”

Think about your body's silence - that feeling when you're completely healthy and just... at peace. Or your mind's silence, when all those constant thoughts just disappear and your mental sky is crystal clear. Those are nice, but they're just the appetizers. The real deal is the silence of your being.

Here's something wild - this deepest silence? It's not something you possess. It possesses you. It's so profound that even you disappear. No ego, no thoughts, just pure, relaxed awareness.

But here's a word of caution - don't get stuck. Some people practice yoga and think they've found silence in their body. Others do meditation techniques and believe they've discovered mental silence. Sufis explore the silence of the heart. But there's always something deeper.

Remember the wisdom of Buddha: "Keep going, keep going." Or as he said in his language, "Charaiveti, charaiveti." Don't stop. Keep exploring.

Silence isn't about hearing nothing. It's about hearing everything - just from a completely different place.
